Iceland is the most striking, geography-rich country I have ever visited. Every single angle was so open and empty, always framed by a towering mountain or volcano or the brutal North Atlantic Ocean. The main things that stood out to me while I was there was the black sand and the sheer vast open-ness of everything. Bear in mind that this was no comprehensive tour, I went for just four days and only skimmed the south coast for most of it. Nonetheless there were some absolutely extraordinary scenes to see. :)
