Just a few days after spotting the mysterious slits in the mud by the River Severn, I came across these impressive mud structures under an underpass under the A38 alongside the River Swilgate. These mud curls and other impressive cracking formations were formed by the moisture-dependant sediment deposits being driven to almost full desiccation by the shelter of the bridge above and the sunlight shining through in the early morning. As I say at the end of the video, a graffiti-clad underpass can hold a surprising amount of physical geography!
