On the 25th October a partial solar eclipse was visible from Aberystwyth, and as good weather was promised, I set up the cameras to record the whole thing. Unlike the last eclipse where I only got a glimpse through the clouds, I watched this one from start to finish, with thick cloud miraculously holding off until right in the final moments. I managed to capture the eclipse with sunspots visible, and capture some interesting clips where clouds and vapour trails passed in front. As I took lots of photos, I was able to create the collages of the phases of the eclipse, showing how the moon approached from the top left and departed out to the left. I also thought it was fascinating to watch the prediction from Timeanddate.com live while watching it through the cameras and seeing the exact same shape.
