25/10/2020 - Rainbow on the seafront

It's one of the most common, yet most loved phenomena; Rainbows! Whenever you see a rainbow there's always that obligation to shout 'Rainbow!' to anyone you're with and get your cameras out. I can confirm that almost everyone on the seafront had their phones held out in front of them to photograph this rainbow. To top it all off, this rainbow occurred simultaneously with the starling murmurations by the pier! You can even see a few stray starlings in the top left corner! :)

An interesting thing I noticed with this rainbow, is the violet colours to the left of the rainbow, merging directly to the red. It didn't come out on the phone very well, but I'd never noticed it before. You can also see the second, much feinter band of the double rainbow over the building on constitution hill if you look closely. Finally, it's extremely clear in this photo how much brighter it is inside the arch of the rainbow than the outside!
