16/10/2021 - Parhelion over Aberystwyth

A parhelion emerged in the sky on my walk along the Rheidol, an interesting small phenomenon which is actually quite common. This little glimmer of multicoloured light just to the left or right of the sun is caused by the sunlight refracting through ice particles suspended in the atmosphere, in this case in cirrus clouds.
